Derby Lightweights

The Derby Lightweights were the earliest 'first-generation' DMUs to be introduced.

They were introduced in "schemes" in different part of the country as vehicles could be built.

The first was to the West Riding of Yorkshire, and the second was to West Cumberland, now known as Cumbria, where our unit is from.
