Owners of Derby Lightweight twin set M79018 / M79612

Our group was set up in 1990 specifically to purchase and preserve the sole surviving Derby Lightweight twin set. We ran a high profile and successful fundraising appeal to purchase the unit and have it asbestos stripped. The power car was awarded a £49,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, which has seen its restoration completed in time for its 50th Birthday.
