The two vehicles arrived at the Midland Railway Centre in 1997 as gutted shells.

The two vehicles were put together on display in Butterley Yard during the 2nd National DMU day on the 31st August 1997. |

79018 arrives at Butterley on the 8th December 1997, ready for work to begin. |

It was arranged for some initial work was done under contract by the full time C&W staff on the power car.
